OTJIWARONGO, 28 AUG (NAMPA) – Repairs on damaged roads in Otjiwarongo are expected to cost more than N.dollars 6 million during this 2018/2019 financial year.
Public Relations Officer (PRO) of the Otjiwarongo Municipality, Adelheid Shilongo in an interview with Nampa on Tuesday said cutting off and resealing portions of the damaged streets are ongoing at the town. Major repairs are being conducted on portions of the Dr Libertina Amathila Street as well.
Shilongo said the five-month rehabilitation project is progressing as expected.
“Local contractor, Danny Construction Company is already two months into the project aimed to repair the roads in Otjiwarongo before the rainy season starts,” she added.
Shilongo attributed the poor condition of some of the roads at the town to the good rainfall that was received during November 2017 and March 2018.
The municipality also intends to repair and reseal the damaged Rikumbi Kandanga and Henk Willems streets during this financial year.
