REHOBOTH, 24 AUG (NAMPA) – North West First Division group winners Military School Okahandja and African Motto are set to battle for promotion to the Namibia Premier League, with the first of the two legged play-off matches to be played in Okahandja next weekend.
Military School Okahandja won Group A and African Motto won Group B.
The winner will join already promoted Southern Stream First Division winners, Young Brazilians from Karasburg and North East First Division winners, Julinho Sporting from Rundu in the NPL.
Confirming the fixtures on Wednesday, league vice chairperson Lawrence Kandundu said the first leg will be played at the Nau-aib Stadium at 15h00 on 01 September, with the return leg set to be played the following Saturday at the Oshakati Independence Stadium.
Speaking to Nampa on Thursday, captain of Military School, Cecil Papi Kaitjirokere said the team’s morale is sky high and their preparations are on track.
“We are fired up for the play-offs and people can expect fireworks in both legs. The way the players are following instructions is fantastic and all I can say is that people should expect to see us in the NPL next season,” a confident Kaitjirokere said.
Meanwhile, African Motto coach, Alex Itumba said they are ready to do battle.
“We have been working since Tuesday and the boys are ready. We aim to win the matches and play in the NPL next season,” he remarked.
