Namibia’s starting squad against Malawi announced

WINDHOEK, 17 AUG (NAMPA) – The national senior netball team starting squad against Malawi for their fourth game at the African Women’s Netball Championship, which also acts as the Netball World Cup qualifier was announced on Friday morning.
The Netball Association of Zambia is hosting the championship in Lusaka from 13 to 18 August 2018.
Namibia will clash with Malawi on Friday afternoon at 12h00 local time.
The Desert Jewels as the Namibian team is known, lost to Zimbabwe 44-61 on Thursday in their third game of the tournament. They also lost to Uganda (47-72) in their opening match on Tuesday, but won their second match against Kenya (54-34) on Wednesday.
The starting squad for Friday is; Uehengisa Tjozongoro (goal keeper), Imbileni Shuweninawa (goal defence), Melissa Neis (wing defence), Diana Tjejamba (centre), Vijandamuje Kamberipa (wing attack), Anna Kaspar (goal attack) and Zauana Jaumbauije (goal scorer).
Six countries - Zambia, Namibia, Zimbabwe, Botswana, Uganda and Kenya - are battling it out for ranking points as well as a place at next year’s World Cup.
Malawi, who already qualified for the World Cup, are competing at the event for match fitness as well as ranking points.
