REHOBOTH, 16 AUG (NAMPA) – The man who died in an accident on the C19 gravel road between Solitaire and Maltahöhe on Tuesday, has been identified as Thomas Eiseb.
The accident was reported to the police around 23h00 on Tuesday, the Namibian Police Force’s crime investigations coordinator for the Hardap Region, Deputy Commissioner Eric Clay told Nampa Wednesday.
He said the 42-year-old Eiseb had been driving the sedan and lost control of it, causing it to leave the road and overturn.
“Eiseb died on the spot, while the two passengers - Silvia Visser, 17, and Uepemuna Sabina Tjikuere, 20, both Namibian nationals - survived the accident without any injuries,” Clay said.
The next of kin of the deceased were informed.
The police are investigating a case of culpable homicide.
The fatal accident was the second on that road this month after another man died on 01 August between Sesriem and Solitaire after he too lost control of the vehicle he was driving.
