Ekuija Monjama tourney set for September

WINDHOEK, 09 AUG (NAMPA) – The Ekuija-Monjama sport club will host a football and netball tournament in Walvis Bay on 01 and 02 September.
Established in 2010, the coastal sport club aims to support the development of sport in the Erongo Region.
The chairperson of the club, Ebson Mbautaene told Nampa on Wednesday N.dollars 32 000 in prize money is up for grabs.
“This is an open tournament and I am urging teams from all over Namibia to register in advance to avoid a last minute rush,” said Mbautaene.
The netball category will receive N.dollars 6 000 and football, N.dollars 24 000.
The netball winner will take home N.dollars 3000, the runners-up N.dollars 1 500 and each semi-final loser, N.dollars 750.
For football, the winning team will pocket N.dollars 12 000, the runners-up will get N.dollars 6 000 and the semi-final losers, N.dollars 3 000 each.
There will be special awards for player of the tournament, top goalscorer and most disciplined players in football and netball respectively.
Mbautaene said a maximum of four premier league players will be allowed per team.
The registration fee for the tournament is N.dollars 1 800 and teams have until 24 August 2018 to pay.
The draw for the competition will take place on 25 August 2018 at the Kuisebmond stadium.
