Three caught with dagga in KHP

WINDHOEK, 01 DEC (NAMPA) - Three suspects were arrested in the //Karas Region on Wednesday for possession of 100 kilogrammes of cannabis valued at N.dollars 3 300.
Namibian Police Force (NamPol) Inspector Stephan Nuuyi told the weekly media briefing here on Sunday that the suspects were apprehended by Namibian Police officers at the Engen Service Station in Keetmanshoop with the drugs.
They made their first court appearance in the Keetmanshoop Magistrate's Court on Friday and remain in custody. Police investigations continue.
In a separate incident, a case of housebreaking with intent to steal and theft was reported after a 26-year-old truck driver broke into the Standard Bank branch in Omuthiya in the Oshikoto Region on Sunday morning.
The suspect allegedly gained entry into the bank by breaking the glass door of the bank with an iron bar. He was arrested inside the bank with a computer screen which he was trying to steal.
The same suspect is also suspected of causing damage to a First National Bank (FNB) of Namibia automatic teller machine (ATM), a closed-circuit television (CCTV) camera and the main door to the FNB branch in the same vicinity.
The suspect will make his first court appearance in the local magistrates court on Monday. Police investigations continue.
