Man hangs himself in Rundu

RUNDU, 01 DEC (NAMPA) - A middle-aged man allegedly ended his own life by hanging himself with a rope on a tree at the Kehemu informal settlement on the outskirts of Rundu on Saturday.
The 23-year-old deceased, identified as Kaperu Mukuve, was found hanging dead from a tree by family members who then alerted the police.
The Namibian Police Force (NamPol) Crime Investigations Coordinator in the two Kavango regions, Deputy Commissioner Willie Bampton told this reporter on Sunday that it could not be established why the deceased hanged himself, as no suicide note was left behind.
The deceased next of kin have already been informed.
In an unrelated incident, a 23-year-old woman was allegedly sexually assaulted at the Kehemu informal settlement on Friday evening.
According to the police report, the suspect jumped through the victims bedroom window and sexually assaulted her.
The suspect, who is unknown to the victim, allegedly ran away after committing the act.
