Solitaire-Sesriem road accident victim identified

REHOBOTH, 03 AUG (NAMPA) – The man who died in an accident on the Sesriem-Solitaire gravel road on Wednesday, has been identified.
Namibian Police Force crime investigations coordinator for the Hardap Region, Deputy Commissioner Eric Clay told Nampa on Friday the deceased was identified as Llewellyn Clanville Diergaardt, 22.
Clay earlier said Diergaardt lost control over the Nissan pick-up he was driving.
“The vehicle left the road and overturned, killing the driver instantly and seriously injuring the passenger,” said Clay.
The passenger, Ronaldo Angelo Bamplem, 20, was transferred to Rehoboth’s St Mary’s Hospital.
The next of kin of the deceased was informed of his death.
A case of culpable homicide has been opened.
