WINDHOEK, 01 DEC (NAMPA) – The price of fuel will remain unchanged for December.
This is the fourth time in a row that the price of petrol remained unchanged since September this year, and the second time in a row for the price of diesel since November this year.
The Minister of Mines and Energy, Isak Katali said in a media statement issued on Friday the government is optimistic that there might be decreases in pump prices during the first quarter of 2014 if the international oil prices follow the current trend, and if the Namibian currency gets more weight against the United States Dollar.
“This will indeed be a fair move to the agriculture sector that uses fuel in its daily activities and all consumers in general, particularly during the festive season when all want to visit family and friends around the country,” said Katali.
The present Walvis Bay fuel pump prices for the controlled petroleum products, petrol and diesel will thus remain at:
95 Octane Unleaded Petrol – N.dollars 11.66
Diesel 500ppm – N.dollars 12.27
Diesel 50ppm – N.dollars 12.33.
