WINDHOEK, 03 AUG (NAMPA) - The Namibia Airports Company (NAC) has appointed Lot Haifidi as its acting chief executive officer.
A media statement issued on Friday said Haifidi’s appointment is effective as from Friday.
“The decision to appoint Mr Haifidi as NAC’s acting CEO was taken by resolution during an ordinary pre-scheduled meeting of the Board of Directors on Friday, pursuant to the assignment of other national responsibilities to the former acting CEO, Albertus Aochamub,” the statement said.
Haifidi is the airports company’s Strategic Executive for Corporate Governance.
Aochamub served as NAC’s acting CEO from 05 February 2018.
A local weekly newspaper earlier this week reported that he will replace the current ambassador to France, Frieda Ithete.
The Ministry of International Relations and Cooperation has, however, not confirmed his appointment. It issued a statement saying it has commenced with the process of rotating Namibian Heads of Mission in accordance with established international diplomatic norms.
Without providing an exact date, it said the public will be informed of the completion of the process at the appropriate time.
