KASU Dream Cup taking place this weekend

WINDHOEK, 02 AUG (NAMPA) – The Katutura Sport Union (KASU) Dream Cup takes place in Windhoek this weekend.
KASU chairperson, Kuveri Tjonga told Nampa on Wednesday the N.dollars 30 000 knock-out competition has attracted 20 football teams and 17 netball teams.
N.dollars 30 000 has been set aside to be distributed between the winning netball and football teams.
N.dollars 10 000 has been allocated to netball and N.dollars 20 000 to football.
The netball winner will take home N.dollars 5 000, while the runners-up will walk away with N.dollars 2 500.
Each semi-final loser will take home N.dollars 1 250.
The winning team in the football category will pocket N.dollars 10 000 and the runners-up N.dollars 5 000, while the semi-final losers will each pocket N. dollars 2 500.
A draw was held in the capital on Tuesday.
“Due to the large number of teams, we have divided the football teams into two groups, while netball have only one group,” said Tjonga.
The netball final will take place on Sunday and the football final on 11 August.
All football games will start at 07h00. The netball will start at 10h00.
“I am appealing to coaches and team managers to discipline their players and respect referee decisions,” Tjonga said.
Established in 1992, KASU is aimed at developing sport in Katutura through hosting local football and netball tournaments that engage the youth.
