WINDHOEK, 29 NOV (NAMPA) - The Minister of Finance, Saara Kuugongelwa-Amadhila and the Commissioner of Inland Revenue, Sam Shivute will be at Ongwediva in the Oshana Region next week to share taxation information with taxpayers there.
The Chairperson of the Namibia Chamber of Commerce and Industry (NCCI)’s Northern Branch, Tomas Iindji told Nampa on Friday the minister will visit the area next Friday to share the information with taxpayers from the four northern regions.
Iindji said Kuugongelwa-Amadhila's visit follow her announcement in the National Assembly (NA) recently that the Finance Ministry will embark upon taxpayer education campaigns throughout the country.
“Following that decision, the minister has decided to implement that decision in all 14 regions in Namibia,” he stated.
He explained that the campaigns will enable taxpayers to know their obligations and rights under the tax laws of Namibia.
The minister will engage members of the northern business community at the Ongwediva Trade Centre.
