WINDHOEK, 25 JUL (NAMPA) – The Namibian Police (NamPol) have released the names of the victims of the murder-suicide incident that took place in a local shop Wednesday morning.
The man, Samuel Shali Nghihepa, 28, died on the spot and the woman, Alina Kakehongo, 24, died while being transported to a local hospital.
Kakehongo was a manager at Louis Botha Supermarket where the incident happened, and Nghihepa was a sergeant in NamPol’s Special Reserve Force.
NamPol’s Head of Media Relations, Chief Inspector Kauna Shikwambi in a media statement said it is alleged the woman ended their relationship, which the man found difficult to accept.
“The ex-boyfriend insisted that they get back together, but the lady was unwilling. That has allegedly angered the boyfriend, prompting him to end both their lives.”
Their next of kin are informed and police investigation continues.
