REHOBOTH, 24 JUL (NAMPA) – A man arrested at Rehoboth on a charge of attempted rape and robbery last month made his second appearance in the Rehoboth Magistrate’s Court on Monday, when his case was postponed to 02 August 2018.
Romario Jacobs appeared before Magistrate Dina Kamboua and his case was postponed to early next month for bail consideration and to allow for further police investigations.
It is alleged that Jacobs attempted to have sexual intercourse with an 18-year-old girl without her consent on 30 June near the Burgershoek residential area in Rehoboth.
He allegedly assaulted and threatened the victim before stealing her cellphone and N.dollars 20 belonging to her.
He was arrested on the same day.
During his first appearance on 02 July 2018, Jacobs indicated that he would apply for legal representation, after which he was denied bail and the case was postponed.
He remains in custody at the Rehoboth Police holding cells until his next court appearance.
Public Prosecutor Leonard Mateus appeared for the State.
