Man dies in collision on Otavi-Outjo gravel road

OTJIWARONGO, 19 JUL (NAMPA) - A 41-year-old man died instantly in a collision involving two vehicles on the Otavi-Outjo gravel road on Thursday.
The incident occurred at about 12h40 some three kilometres south of Otavi on the C39 gravel road.
Spokesperson of the Namibian Police Force in the Otjozondjupa Region, Warrant Officer Maureen Mbeha told Nampa shortly after the accident on Thursday that a pick-up vehicle and a sedan were involved in the head-on collision.
Mbeha said the 65-year-old driver of the pick-up, and his 39-year-old female passenger sustained slight to serious injuries and were taken to the Otavi State Clinic for further medical attention.
“At the moment, we are still busy trying to establish the exact cause of the accident,” said Mbeha.
The deceased’s next of kin have not yet been informed of his death.
A culpable homicide case was opened at Otavi and police investigations continue.
