Uncle Paul to be laid to rest on Saturday

WINDHOEK, 10 JUL (NAMPA) - Social commentator, activist and Windhoek resident, Paul Helmuth will be laid to rest on Saturday.
Family spokesperson Angelo Helmuth told Nampa he will be buried at the Pionierspark Cemetery.
A memorial service will be held at the St Georges Cathedral on Thursday.
Prayer sessions will be held at the Helmuth residence before and after the memorial service.
We will go to the church again Saturday morning before we take him to his final resting place, said the family spokesperson.
Uncle Paul, as he was affectionately known, died at the age of 89 on Friday in the Roman Catholic Hospital in Windhoek.
Born on 14 February 1929 in Walvis Bay, Uncle Paul gained a reputation as an ardent contributor to the call-in programmes of the Namibian Broadcasting Corporation and Base FM community radio, where he raised and commented on social and political issues of concern.
