WINDHOEK, 10 JUL (NAMPA) – Top Namibian women footballer Zenatha Coleman has signed with Spanish giants Valencia for the next two seasons.
According to online media reports on Tuesday, the Brave Gladiator moves to Valencia from another Spanish team Zaragoza CCF, who were relegated last season.
She becomes the third player to be signed by Valencia this season following the arrival of Monica Flores and Jucinara Soares.
The 24-year-old Coleman can play as a striker on either side of the wings.
She single-handedly almost saved Zaragoza from relegation by scoring seven goals in 15 games after joining them halfway through the league last season.
“I come to Valencia because I’m sure we can do great things, the whole club has convinced me,” Coleman was quoted as saying by the online reports.
Coleman will be competing against Mari Paz, Marta Peiró Giménez, Marianela Szymanowski, Anair Lomba Álvarez, Andrea Esteban Catalán and Nadezhda Kárpova to lead the attack for Valencia in the upcoming season.
Valencia finished the last season in fifth place with 50 points from 30 matches.
Efforts to get comment from the Namibian player proved fruitless on Tuesday.
