Angolan man arrested for failure to declare N.dollars 386 973

WINDHOEK, 09 JUL (NAMPA) – A 43-year-old Angolan national was arrested on Friday by Customs at the Oshivelo checkpoint for allegedly failing to declare N.dollars 386 973 in his possession.
According to a crime report issued on Monday by the Namibian Police Force, the suspect was arrested at about 23h00 as per the Customs and Excise Act of 1998.
The suspect was allegedly found in possession of N.dollars 374 000; 710 British Pounds; Five Euro and US. Dollars 10.
“The suspect crossed the Oshikango borders into Namibia and failed to explain the amounts, hence his arrest,” said the report.
Meanwhile, a female security guard from Windhoek on Saturday was attacked at gun-point by five men at the Khomas High School.
According the report, the suspects allegedly broke into five offices at around midnight and stole items such smart phones; printers; desktop computers, laptop computers and N.dollars 7600 cash.
The estimated loss is still to be determined and no arrest or recovery has been made yet, the report indicated, adding that investigations into the matter continue. (NAMPA)
