Defaulters force NamPower to cut power

NamPower plans to cut power supply to several village and town councils as well as other customers who have continuously defaulted on their payments, the company announced today.

As of 11 July 2018, NamPower will cut off the supply to Tses, Koes and Berseba Village Councils. Other local authorities such as Aranos Town Council and Aranos Town Abattoir will also be cut off.

The company indicated that the Ministry of Agriculture supply points such as Neckartal Dam, Kalahari Proefplaas, Ariamsvlei directorate of veterinary servies, Rudenau Nord no. 6, veterinary offices in Buitepos, Noordoewer Border Post and Noordower will also be affected.

Others include Tsumis Agriculture College: pump Kujek as well as Pump San. Similarly Orange River Green Scheme Project by Agribusdev and Congo Namibia Trading (pty) Ltd Kombat Mine will also face the same circumstances.

NamPower could only advise critical services providers to keep their generators on standby.
