WINDHOEK, 03 JUL (NAMPA) - Ten cases of Influenza A H1N1, commonly known as swine flu, have so far been confirmed, with the youngest patient being a six-month-old infant.
An updated statement issued by the Ministry of Health and Social ServicesÂ’ acting Permanent Secretary, Petronella Masabane on Tuesday said six of the cases are from Rehoboth and four from Windhoek.
'There are five females and five males aged between six months and 65 years, which include the 45-year-old man who died on Friday.'
According to Masabane, of the remaining nine cases, three are currently admitted in hospitals.
An unofficial statement claiming cases of the virus at Orban Primary School and Delta High School also started circulating on social media on Tuesday.
However, when contacted for comment on this matter, Masabane told Nampa the ministry has not confirmed the cases yet as it is still uncertain whether laboratory tests were carried out.
