Eleven Champions crowned Khomas Second Division Champions

REHOBOTH, 03 JUL (NAMPA) – Eleven Champions Football Club (FC) was crowned the winner of the Khomas Second Division on Sunday evening having scored a staggering 90 goals over 26 matches played, with 19 wins and conceding 28 goals this season.
Eleven Champions garnered 60 points with three draws and four losses.
Eleven Champions coach, Adelino Julio Baptista told Nampa on Monday they just went about their business without much fuss.
“We worked hard since day one to get the much-desired outcome of winning the league. Although we were written off in the beginning of the season, we remained focused and worked our socks off,” Baptista said.
He said they will take a week’s rest and start with the preparations for the Southern Stream First Division play-offs.
Rookies Swallows Football Academy came second with 3 points adrift of Eleven Champions, having beaten the newly-crowned champions 1-0 in the final match on Sunday.
A total of 686 goals were scored, with Eleven Champions finding the net on 90 occasions, followed by Swallows FA and Afrika Rassap on 75 each.
Falcon FC, Impala Chiefs and Namib Colts scored only 25 goals each and Java Java conceded a whopping 100 goals, followed by Impala Chiefs with 83 and Falcon with 69.
Swallows and Namibia University of Science and Technology were the teams with the most draws, totalling nine each.
City Boys were the team with the meanest defence, having only conceded 24 goals, followed by Swallows with 26.
