OTAVI, 23 JUN (NAMPA) – The Otavi Town Council on Sunday will hold a public meeting to consult residents on its proposed budget for the 2018/2019 financial year with the purpose of effective town planning.
Otavi Deputy Mayor, George Garab in an interview with Nampa on Friday said the council recently agreed to hold a meeting with the residents to consult and discuss its budget of N.dollars 47.3 million.
Garab said the town council wants to have yearly bottom up capital budget discussions with the general public and also to share ideas on the tariffs charged for municipal services rendered to the consumers.
“We also want to solicit ideas on the developmental capital projects from our people, so that we can prioritise the limited resources at our disposal,” Garab said.
The office of the Otavi acting Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Pesella Nunda, will also circulate and inform the public through notice boards around town on the details of the Sunday meeting.
Garab urged all residents of the town to attend the meeting on 24 June 2018 from 14h00 at the Otavi Community Hall where they can give their contributions.
All seven local authority councillors of Otavi are also expected to attend.
Otavi has a population over 5 000.
