Mariental teen murder case postponed to August

REHOBOTH, 14 JUN (NAMPA) – A 15-year-old boy arrested in April for allegedly murdering his father made his second appearance in the Mariental Magistrate’s Court on Thursday.
The teenager was arrested at Mariental after he allegedly stabbed his biological father in the Aimablaagte residential area.
It is not known what led to the stabbing.
The 38-year-old victim, whose name is being withheld to protect the underage boy, was rushed to the Mariental State Hospital, but was declared dead on arrival.
The boy on Thursday appeared before Magistrate Verinao Kamahene.
The matter was postponed to 07 August this year to allow the accused to acquire the services of a State-funded lawyer.
He was released into the care of his grandmother.
Public Prosecutor Loide Nghixulifwa represented the State.
