Man dies in Hardap after being hit with brick

REHOBOTH, 10 JUN (NAMPA) – A case of murder was opened at the Namibian Police Force (NamPol) in the Hardap Region on Saturday after a 21-year-old man was allegedly hit with a brick and was later found dead in his room.
NamPol crime investigations coordinator for the Hardap Region, Deputy Commissioner Eric Clay confirmed the incident and told Nampa on Sunday that it occurred at around 12h00 on Farm Bagatelle No. 293.
“It is alleged that the suspect has thrown the deceased with a brick after he was stabbed by the deceased following a heated argument over alcohol and hit him in the stomach. After the incident, the deceased left the scene and went to his room where his dead body was later discovered,” Clay said.
Clay said the exact cause of the death is unknown at this stage, but the suspect who threw the brick at the deceased was arrested for the alleged murder.
Deceased was identified as Hendrico Kraai.
His next of kin have been informed about his death and a 27-year-old suspect has been arrested.
Investigations into the matter continue.
