Standard Bank Otjinene robbed of more than N.dollars 270 000

WINDHOEK, 07 JUN (NAMPA) – Standard Bank in Otjinene was broken into Tuesday morning and more than N.dollars 270 000 stolen.
The Namibian Police Force’s crime investigations coordinator for the Omaheke Region, Commissioner Chris Kalimbula confirmed the incident on Wednesday.
“Between midnight and 04h00, burglars used a cutting torch to cut the fence and fabricated structure and gain access to the bank,” he said.
They used the cutting torch to open the Automated Teller Machine (ATM) and got away with N.dollars 276 662 which they removed from the ATM and teller trays.
No arrests have been made and the money has not yet been recovered, Kalimbula said.
