Woman stabbed to death over cellphone at Grootfontein

OTJIWARONGO, 04 JUN (NAMPA) - A 26-year-old woman died at Grootfontein on Saturday after she was stabbed by an attacker, who then fled with her cellphone.
The deceased has been identified as Ndaliko Victoria Amunyongi.
Spokesperson of the Namibian Police Force in the Otjozondjupa Region, Warrant Officer Maureen Mbeha told Nampa on Sunday Amunyongi was stabbed once in the neck on the doorstep of her home and succumbed to the injury there.
Her relatives have been informed.
Preliminary police investigations indicate that Amunyongi had gotten home around 22h00 from a church event at the Omulunga Community Hall when she was attacked.
“The attacker fled with the deceased’s Samsung Galaxy J5,” said Mbeha.
No arrests have been made in connection with the incident.
Mbeha called on anyone with information that could lead to an arrest to contact the nearest police station.
