Man dies in train accident at Omuthiya

OMUTHIYA, 29 MAY (NAMPA) A 48-year-old man died after a train drove over him at Omainda village near Omuthiya on Monday.
Warrant Officer Ellen Nehale of the Namibian Police Forces Public Relations Unit in the Oshikoto Region told Nampa Tuesday the deceased has been identified as Jesaya Nuugonya, who was from Omainda.
The accident occurred around 14h25.
It is alleged that Nuugonya had been lying on the train tracks when the train drove over him. He died on the spot, Nehale said.
The Omuthiya Police Station has registered a case of culpable homicide in connection with the incident.
Nuugonyas next of kin have been informed.
