Okakara road incident victim identified

OTJIWARONGO, 28 MAY (NAMPA) - The 35-year-old man who died on Sunday morning after allegedly jumping out of a moving vehicle at Okangoho village in the Okakarara Constituency, has been identified.
Spokesperson of the Namibian Police Force in the Otjozondjupa Region, Warrant Officer Maureen Mbeha on Monday told Nampa in an interview that the man was formally identified as Reckeff Katjiruru.
His close relatives were formally informed of his death on Sunday and positively identified him at the police mortuary in Otjiwarongo.
“He was a local music dancer and singer,” said Mbeha.
According to Mbeha, the deceased was taken to the Okakarara State Hospital after allegedly jumping out of the moving vehicle at around 04h00, and was declared dead upon arrival.
It is alleged he was under the influence of alcohol at the time of the incident.
Police investigations into the matter continue.
