OTJIWARONGO, 21 MAY (NAMPA) – The Swapo Party School on Monday kicked off a two-day training at Otjiwarongo aimed at grooming and teaching the newly-elected party leaders in different structures the philosophies of the party.
Rector of the Swapo Party School, Marco Hausiku and National Coordinator, Dr Charles Mubita are conducting the training.
The ruling party school was officially launched in May 2016 in the capital by former Swapo Secretary-General, Nangolo Mbumba.
In his opening remarks on Monday, Hausiku briefly told the Otjozondjupa party members attending the training of the importance of paying attention.
He then commanded them to switch off their cellphones and park them in handbags or pockets.
“I expect total attention because I want you to become creams of the party once this training comes to an end. Swapo’s primary goal in conducting these regional sessions is to produce capable party leaders who will make it to achieve all its objectives,” he said.
Several regional and local authority councillors, members of the party’s Otjozondjupa Regional Executive Committee and regional coordinator, Susan Hikopua are attending the training.
The Swapo Party School already conducted similar training sessions in the Khomas, Oshana, Oshikoto and Zambezi regions.
