NEFD title race getting tough

REHOBOTH, 20 MAY (NAMPA) – The race for the coveted North-East Stream First Division league title is heating up with teams fighting it out for maximum points in both Pools.
Speaking to Nampa on Saturday after the Round 3 matches, chairperson of NESFD, Mpasi Haingura said competition is getting tough in Pool A and B.
“It looks like the competition is getting tough now looking at the results for the day. Teams are going for maximum points which is tough to get and we had mostly stalemates today,” Haingura noted.
Saturday in Pool A, Kangweru Black Tops and Ntunguru played out a 1-1 draw at the Kangweru Stadium, while at Rundu Sports Stadium, Bingo United and Black Hawks also played to a 1-1 draw.
United Stars and Eastern Chiefs also produced a similar score line at the same venue.
Pool B saw KK United and Oshikango Chiefs draw 1-1 at Nkurenkuru Stadium, with Julinho Sporting thrashing home team Young Rangers 6-1 at Tsumeb’s Oscar Norich Stadium.
Benfica and Cuca Tops played to a goalless draw at the same venue.
