"Team Nudo" star rally takes center stage

WINDHOEK, 19 MAY (NAMPA) – National Unity Democratic Organisation (Nudo) Presidential candidate Utjiua Muinjangue and her slate – popularly known as Team Nudo - will take to the streets of Katutura as part of their final star rally ahead of congress next Friday.
Team Nudo, led by Muinjangue, along with vice-presidential (VP) candidate and Aminius Constituency councilor Peter Kazongominja, secretary general (SG) candidate and Windhoek councilor Joseph Kauandenge and its supporters will march from the party’s headquarters in Clemens Kapuuo Street from 12h00 on Saturday.
The march will proceed to the popular Kamberipa Street in Katutura before turning into the Independence Avenue all the way to the UN Plaza, where a meeting will be held at 14h00.
At the meeting, Team Nudo candidates will be introduced to delegates of the party's congress, followed by speeches from the candidates, with Miunjangue being the keynote speaker at the event.
When Nampa visited the party’s headquarters during the early hours of Saturday, preparations were going well and cars were dispatched to various pickup points to collect the delegates.
Team Nudo will face stiff competition from the 'Team 100% VK', led by Okakarara Constituency councilor Vetaruhe Kandorozu, to assume the party's leadership for the next five years.
Kandorozu’s slate is composed academic Professor Jekura Kavari as its VP candidate while current SG, Meundju Jahanika, will try to retain his position.
Team 100 % VK will hold its final star rally on Sunday, one day after Team Nudo’s.
The Nudo congress is slated for 25-26 May 2018 in the capital.
