RUNDU, 18 MAY (NAMPA) – Rundu-based Bingo Football Club (FC) currently playing in the North-East First Division (NEFD) have expressed readiness for the league’s round three and four matches to be played over the weekend.
Bingo FC will face Black Hawks at 14h00 on Saturday and Eastern Chiefs at 13h00 on Sunday. Both matches will take place at the Rundu Sport Stadium
In an interview with Nampa on Wednesday, the teamÂ’s Public Relations Officer, Titus Pauli Sitentu said although the team lost its first league game 2-0 against United Stars last weekend, their preparations have inspired confidence for them to reverse their fortunes this weekend.
Sitentu said the first game did not go their way because they did not prepare well due to circumstances beyond their control.
The unavailability of players was one of the issue raised by Sitentu, saying that some of the teamÂ’s star players needed to be cleared from their previous clubs and clearance fees were supposed to be paid which was not done on time due to financial problems.
Teams in the first division are being given N.dollars 30 000 as start-up capital for the league.
Sitentu added that the team could not pay the clearance fees because the Namibian Football Association had not paid the start -up capital to the teams, however Sitentu said the players are now available.
Former united star player Amandus Robinho Naironga has so far beencleared to join the team as well as Lucas Siremo; Bethold Sikondomboro and Romeo Hausiku that were not available for the first game.
The division has been divided into pool A and B and therefore, Sitentu explained that each pool consist of six teams and they are expected to play 10 games for the two legs of the league.
In addition, he added that although the league is heading into round three and four, the team has only played one game because the fixtures are structured in such a way that on any given weekend one of the teams in the group will only play one game.
In other round three and four league matches scheduled for Saturday, Kangweru Black Top will lock horns with Ntunguru at 14h00 at Kangweru Stadium, while United Stars will face Eastern Chiefs at the same venue at around 16h00.
On Sunday, United Stars will face Black Hawks at around 11h00 at the Rundu Sports Stadium.
