REHOBOTH, 17 MAY (NAMPA) – The long-awaited North West Stream First Division (NWSFD) rounds 1 and 2 will kick off this coming weekend, after money complaints from teams threatened the start of the league.
Team officials Nampa spoke to earlier this week said they did not receive any start-up capital and will not be playing the matches, however Olavi Shiningayamwe of Tropical Heat on Thursday confirmed that they received the money on Thursday morning.
“The N.dollars 5 000 was paid in this morning and teams are ready to start,” he assured.
Contacted for comment, league administrator Lydia Hakandonga added: “As promised the teams got the N.dollars 5 000 on Thursday and the remaining N.dollars 7 000 will be paid before the completion of the first leg.”
The matches are scheduled for Oshikuku, Tsandi, Uukwangula and Ogongo.
