WINDHOEK, 15 MAY (NAMPA) - Suspected thieves were on Tuesday caught red-handed while stealing property from a house in the area of Hochland Park in the capital.
Namibian Police Force Acting Commander for Community Affairs, Katrina Nakushu told Nampa that two of the suspected thieves were arrested while five are still on the run.
She added that the suspects were also connected to break-ins at two different houses in the same area between 09 and 11 May this year.
“The suspects hired a rental truck to transport the stolen items then,” she said.
Nakushu elaborated that five items were retrieved in the Tuesday incident, but did not rule out the possibility that other property may have been stolen.
The two arrested suspects are expected to make their first court appearance in the Windhoek Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday or Thursday.
“Community members should not leave their houses unattended when travelling, or should notify the Namibian Police or City Police when leaving town,” Nakushu cautioned.
