REHOBOTH, 03 MAY (NAMPA) – The Kunene Second Division Football League will kick off this weekend with Rounds 1 and 2 matches to be played in Opuwo, Outjo, Kamanjab, Okaukuejo and Ombika.
Meanwhile, league administrator Moses !Ganeb said on Wednesday, the Extra Ordinary Elective Annual General Meeting will be held in Outjo on 12 May to elect a new chairperson after the Kunene Football League teams instituted a vote of no confidence in Petrus Tjiveze on 07 April. They cited lack of leadership and lack of accountability with regards to league finances as reasons for their decision.
“Ruben Bolla Nangombe was nominated by 11 of the 12 teams with the remaining team nominating me, but I was not seconded and thus disqualified,” !Ganeb said.
In the first match of Round 1 in Ombika at 11h00 on Saturday, Etosha United will come up against Black Africa Warriors, while at Opuwo, Kunene Namibian Police (NamPol) will face Outjo Football Academy at 14h00, with Revengers doing battle against Green Dangers at Kamanjab, also at 14h00.
At Outjo, Bethlem Boys will face Gariseb Orlando Pirates at 14h00, followed by PUBS versus Khorixas outfit and erstwhile Namibia Premier League campaigners, Robber Chanties.
