BAS/DHPS Basketball Camp records record number of participants

REHOBOTH, 02 MAY (NAMPA) - More than 70 players and coaches participated in the second basketball camp of the Deutsche Höhere Privatschule (DHPS) and the Basketball Artists School (BAS) Foundation from Saturday to Monday in the capital.
A media statement availed on Wednesday by Frank Albin, the head of the ‘Free Throw’ - Basketball Artists against HIV/AIDS project, the three days were filled with basketball training in dribbling, passing, shooting and numerous contests and games.
BAS Director Ramah Mumba said the record number of attendees shows that basketball is growing fast in Namibia.
“We would like to thank DHPS and their dedicated principal Kristin Eichholz as well as our partner OTB Sport for supporting this BAS fundraising activity,” Mumba added.
Last year 40 participants took part.
Special awards were given to Operi Tjingaeti, who received the Kristin Eichholz Most Valuable Player Award, Freviano Kampara was chosen as Best Shooter, Angel Shiimbi as Most Improved Girl, and Nickolai Schaffrath as Most Improved Boy.
