Second Food Namibia Trade Expo slated for Rundu

RUNDU, 30 APR (NAMPA) – The second Food Namibia Trade Expo and Conference is scheduled to take place here from 31 July to 04 August, according to its director, Manfried Likoro.
The expo, which was held for the first time last year, aims to address the future of agriculture and sustainable food production in the country.
Likoro told Nampa on Monday the difference this year is that the expo will be held for a week instead of only two days as was the case last year to gauge public interest.
“This year we have increased the days because we want to go more broadly and incorporate other industries such as the fishing and meat industries, and attract international exhibitors too,” Likoro said.
The director said the expo also aims to attract ministries such as Agriculture, Water and Forestry; Industrialisation, Trade and SME Development; and Fisheries and Marine Resources “as they are tailor-made for the country’s growth”.
Meanwhile, Likoro said the conference will also provide a platform for the public and private sector to interact, share their visions and discuss key issues concerning the future of food and agriculture industries in the country.
