Two minor girls raped in Kavango East

RUNDU, 30 APR (NAMPA) – A 12-year-old girl was allegedly raped by a 16-year-old boy at Kehemu in the Kavango East Region on Thursday.
According to a report issued by the Namibian Police Force’s Kavango East Crime Investigations Coordinator, Deputy Commissioner Bonifatius Kanyetu on Monday, it is alleged the suspect found the victim on her way to her friend’s house at about 11h00. He allegedly asked her to escort him to his place and she agreed.
The suspect then had sexual intercourse with her twice in his room without her consent.
The suspect has not yet been arrested.
Police investigations into the matter continue.
Another 12-year-old girl was allegedly raped at the Shadikongoro village in the Mukwe Constituency of the same region at about 21h00 on Wednesday.
According to Kanyetu, the suspect allegedly grabbed the victim and pulled her into a house where he had sexual intercourse with her without her consent.
The suspect has also not yet been arrested and police investigations continue.
