Pensioner raped at Mayara village

RUNDU, 25 APR (NAMPA) – A 62-year-old woman was raped at Mayara village in the Kavango East Region on Monday.
Namibian Police Force crime investigations coordinator in the region, Deputy Commissioner Bonifasius Kanyetu told Nampa on Wednesday the suspect in the matter, aged 67, has been arrested.
He allegedly pushed the victim to the ground.
“He then undressed her and had sexual intercourse with her without her consent,” said Kanyetu.
The suspect is set to appear in the Rundu Magistrate’s Court on Thursday.
Mayara is a village situated about 168 kilometres east of Rundu.
