Man robbed off N.dollars 250 000 in cash

WINDHOEK, 23 APR (NAMPA) A 30-year-old man was allegedly robbed of N.dollars 250 000 in cash on Friday evening at the Rand Street Butchery located along Hans Dietrich Genscher Street in the Khomasdal suburb of Windhoek.
Head of Media Relations in the Namibian Police Force (NamPol), Chief Inspector Kaunapawa Shikwambi said in a weekend crime report availed to Nampa on Sunday the victim was positioning himself on the drivers seat of the vehicle he was in, when three unknown men armed with a pistol emerged from a silver sedan with no number plate.
The men, she said, stormed his vehicle, shot in the air, grabbed the money, a laptop, and cellphone before speeding off.
No arrests have been made thus far and the stolen items are yet to be recovered.
In a separate incident, a 17-year-old girl was allegedly raped on Friday at about 14h00 in the bushes behind the Otjivanda Secondary School near the Soweto location in Grootfontein.
It is alleged that the suspect approached the victim from behind, grabbed her, placed his hand on her mouth and dragged her into the bushes where he had sexual intercourse with her without her consent.
The suspect is unknown to the victim and has not yet been arrested.
Police investigations continue.
