REHOBOTH, 22 APR (NAMPA) - ||Kharas Second Division Inland Stream and former Southern Stream First Division (SSFD) outfit Dates Eleven Football Club maintained their unbeaten run in the league after collecting maximum points over the weekend.
The Dadels, as they are affectionately known by their supporters, defeated Noordoewers Spiders 2-1 on Saturday through goals by Mirrel Jossop and Gregory April and beat Orange Rangers, also from Noordoewer, 3-0 through goals by Jossop, April and Julius Rooi.
The Naute Dam-based team are top of the log with 18 points from six games.
Dates Eleven coach Andries Wimmerth on Sunday told Nampa their aim is to return to the SSFD as soon as possible.
Our players and everyone associated with this club knows our aim is to go back to the SSFD. We are ready to fight for the championship as we belong in the SSFD and ultimately need to fight to gain promotion to the Namibia Premier League, Wimmerth said.
He said the uncertainty surrounding the kick-off of the nationwide first divisions will not deter them in their quest for promotion.
We will not allow the off the field football politics to stop us from fighting for promotion and will play our football without any off the field antics. We are here to play football only, he said.
Dates Eleven was relegated from the SSFD at the end of the 2015/2016 football season along with Hardap Boys from Kalkrand.
