Police find body of boy swept away in flood

WINDHOEK, 22 APR (NAMPA) – The body of the three-year-old boy swept away by floodwaters in Windhoek, was found on Saturday.
Head of Media Relations at the Namibian Police Force, Kauna Shikwambi in the weekly crime report on Sunday said Jason Lukas Shindinge’s body was found around 10h30 on Saturday, in the same swamp where his mother’s body was found on Tuesday.
“The body was discovered by the police and community members who were busy with the search for five days,” Shikwambi said.
Saima Thomas, her partner and two children were in their shack, which stood in a riverbed in the Abraham Iyambo informal settlement when the shack was destroyed after heavy rains.
Thomas’s partner managed to grab their three-day-old and escape the flood.
