Police looking for body of man who drowned at Mukwe

RUNDU, 16 APR (NAMPA) - Police in the Kavango East Region are looking for the body of a man who drowned in the Mukwe Constituency last Wednesday.
Namibian Police Force Kavango East Crime Investigations Coordinator, Deputy Commissioner Bob Kanyetu told Nampa on Monday it is suspected that the man fell out of his canoe while crossing the river from Marudhi village to Mushangara.
His age is not known.
In an unrelated matter, the police in the Kavango East Region have asked for public assistance in tracing a woman who allegedly dumped a three-day-old baby girl in the bushes at Biro village in the Mukwe Constituency.
The incident occurred last Friday.
“The baby’s health is good and she is being taken care of by the hospital staff and social workers at the Andara Hospital,” Kanyetu said.
Police investigations continue.
