OTJIWARONGO, 25 MAR (NAMPA) - Two men died after being stabbed in separate incidents in Okahandja’s Nau Aib residential area over the weekend.
Frans Uri-Khob was declared dead at the Okahandja State Hospital, where he was taken after being stabbed in the left shoulder with a spear Friday night.
Marco Murangi, 28, died instantly Saturday night when he was stabbed in the chest with a sharp object.
The next of kin of the two men are informed of their deaths.
Spokesperson of the Namibian Police Force in the Otjozondjupa Region, Warrant Officer Maureen Mbeha on Sunday said they are still to establish what led to both fights.
“We have, however, managed to arrest three suspects,” Mbeha, who expressed concern over the increase in stabbings linked to alcohol consumption in the region, said.
Two suspects aged 27 and 17 who allegedly were involved in a fight with Uri-Khob were arrested shortly after the incident.
A 25-year-old suspect linked to Murangi’s death was arrested Saturday night.
The suspects will appear in the Okahandja Magistrate’s Court on charges of murder on Monday.
Police investigations continue.
