Nust student killed in a shooting incident

A Namibia University of Science and Technology (NUST) student, Nayman Amakali, was killed on the spot when a taxi he was in was shot at by an unidentified motorist following a misunderstanding on Tuesday night this week.

He was pursuing a bachelor’s degree in science health information system management at the university.

The incident happened along Deitrich street opposite a guesthouse at a four way stop when the taxi driver flashed a car that stopped at his front resulting in a misunderstanding between the two drivers.

Speaking to The Villager after the incident, Marshall Rangers Sheriff Shaun Naud said the driver in the unidentified car pulled out a fire arm and shot 11 bullets at the taxi resulting in the student being killed on the spot.

The deceased had his brother in the taxi who also took a bullet in the chest and another person also got wounded.

Both were rushed to the hospital.
