REHOBOTH, 21 MAR (NAMPA) – The Hardap Region has appointed a regional technical team to prepare its Under-19 netball team ahead of the Namibian Newspaper Cup.
The tournament takes place at Katima Mulilo in the Zambezi Region from 30 March to 02 April.
Team manager of the Hardap Under-19 netball team, Lizette Beukes, on Tuesday confirmed the new committee, saying they were appointed two weeks ago and their preparations are on track.
“We have been hard at work preparing the team for the tournament. The players showed they can compete with the best and we are hoping for at least a top two finish,” she said.
Beukes said the team has played friendly matches against the Hardap Under-20 netball team and has two more friendlies lined up.
In addition to Beukes’ appointment as team manager, Anna Beukes has been appointed as the regional team’s chairperson, while Blossom Jacobs will serve as the secretary general. The head coach position was filled by Pakela Christiaan, who will be deputised by Vincent Duncan as the first assistant coach and Claudia Mahalie as the second assistant coach.
Charmaine Kutara will serve as the assistant team manager.
