REHOBOTH, 20 MAR (NAMPA) Eastern Chiefs Football Club will represent the North-East First Division (NEFD) in the Round of 32 of the Debmarine Namibia Cup after defeating Bingo United 4-0 on Monday evening.
The game was initially scheduled for Sunday but had to be postponed after heavy rain fell and left the Rundu Sports Stadium waterlogged.
Eastern Chiefs will now face Namibia Premier League team University of Namibia (UNAM) in the Round of 32 slated for Oscar Norich Stadium in Tsumeb on Sunday.
Chiefs and Bingo defeated Kangweru Black Tops and Benfica 4-0 and 2-0 in the semi-finals.
Chiefs goals were scored by Kangere Aloys Ngave, who scored a brace, and Mukuve Erick Kangoro and Nangudi Asser Kavara with one goal apiece.
Chiefs coach Richard Kamburi said they worked hard for the win and their focus will now shift to preparing for their game against UNAM.
We dont have long to celebrate our win against Bingo. We will try hard and go to the next round, Kamburi said.
