Namibia commences Trade Related facility Project

Government through the ministry of industrialisation, trade and SME development and officially kick-started the implementation of the European Union funded Southern African Development Community Trade Related Facility project.
The project is envisaged to promote regional integration and unlock economic opportunities within the country and Namibia has already signed the Contribution Agreement with EU/SADC as one of the 12 member states to benefit from it.
It is also a window through which trade with eh EU can be enhanced.
Speaking at the official launch of the project, minister Tjekero Tweya said, “The project is envisaged to aid in enhancing the private sector awareness of the opportunities from the SADC-EU Economic Partnership Agreement.”
“Additionally, the TRF will work to strengthen the capacity in completion policy and law, focusing on improving the institutional and regulatory framework of the Namibia Competition Commission thereby improving stakeholders’ compliance with the Competition Policy and Law,” he added.
