Think before you ink-Franz Gertze

The Namibia Qualification Authority (NQA) Chief Executive Officer Franz Gertze has urged learners who wish to further their studies at small colleges to do research before enrolling.

Speaking to The Villager, Gertze said that unregistered institutions take advantage of those who are vulnerable and eager to obtain the necessary qualifications while giving them false promises.

“We have got a number of approaches that we have adopted to inform the nation but the basic message is think before you ink,” Gertze said.

He further advised that before going to register, students who want to pursue their studies at a particular institution should visit the NQA’s offices or call their fraud line which he said is active and always available.

“At the beginning of the year, you would see a spike in the number of institutions wanting to offer education knowing that students have just completed school, they are vulnerable and looking for a place and that is when they make offers and promises to students,” he explained.
