WINDHOEK, 12 MAR (NAMPA) – Brave Warriors and former Tura Magic defender Teberius ‘Tebe’ Lombard, who signed a three year deal with top Zambian Football Team Lusaka Dynamos is settling in well at his new club.
Speaking exclusively to Nampa on Monday, Lombard said he had adapted well to his new club, as his teammates have been welcoming.
“They have taken me in as their brother and helped me settle well. They are kind, humble and down to earth. I have also adapted to the training methods which have helped me improve my game.”
He added that he was finding it difficult to communicate with his teammates as they predominately speak English and other local languages, while he prefers Afrikaans.
Lombard further added that the game in Zambia is very technical and the tempo and levels are very high compared to Namibia.
“I am working hard on my body strength as most players this side are physically bigger than me. My target is to first cement my place in the starting 11, win a trophy with the team and win the league with the club,” he said, adding that the latter were also the club’s ambition.
So far, the Namibian defender has played in all six friendly matches in pre-season with the club winning five with clean sheets and conceding only two goals.
The Zambian league kicks off on Saturday, 17 March, but Lombard will not be in action as his team’s opponents, Zanaco, will be participating in continental competitions.
The centre back moved to Zambia from Namibia Premier League team Tura Magic in January this year following impressive performances in the 2018 African Nations Championship in Morocco.
